Every Wednesday, bring along your latest crafty projects to work on over a drink and a chat. Knitting, sewing, crochet, needlework etc. All crafts and abilities welcome. Antiques & Collectables Market (The Village Hall, Sea Road, East Preston BN16 1LP)

There will be up to 30 tables selling vintage memorabilia including ceramics, glass, silver, art deco and art nouveau, jewellery and postcards. There will be a café set up throughout the day serving home made cakes, pastries, coffee, tea and soft drinks and a raffle. Admission is £1.

Refreshment kiosk organised by local teenagers. All proceeds from tickets, raffle and wine sales to be used for the benefit of the village. East Preston Festival Annual Meeting (The Conservative Hall, Sea Road, East Preston BN16 1JN)

During the meeting, the money raised at this year’s festival from the committee-led events will be distributed and representatives from the many charities, local community groups, clubs and societies who benefit will be present to receive their donation cheques. East Preston's Charity and Community Market is a popular event that gives you the opportunity to make contact with local charities, community groups and craft workers. There will be charity tables, craft stalls, home cooked food, hand made cards and gifts, tombola and raffle. Refreshments will also be available. Entry is by donation to festival funds.

Sidesaddle Travels in England with Celia Fiennes (Conservative Hall, Sea Road, East Preston)

Celia Fiennes was an independent-minded lady, born in 1662, who travelled on horseback around England from her early twenties to the age of about fifty. Staying with relatives, friends and sometimes complete strangers, she noted the industries of each area and the meals she ate. This talk by Dr Janet Pennington reveals a travelogue from a female perspective, at a time when travel was uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous. All welcome. East Preston Christmas Celebrations (Sea Road, East Preston)

This is a day to celebrate Christmas. Starting at noon with local businesses getting together to promote what they do, stalls inside the Village Hall and entertainment in the Conservative Hall. We have a funfair, stalls outside and activities on the Village Green. Fun for children includes visiting Father Christmas, face painting and lantern making. Cafes and bars will be open offering sumptuous delights all day and some into the evening. We aim to have a procession around 4.45pm with children and Father Christmas taking the lanterns from the north end of the village to the south. There will be carol singing by the Village Green and a finale firework display. Hope to see you there.
Organised by East Preston Parish Council & supported by local businesses and villagers.

William Penn: the Sussex Connection (Conservative Hall, Sea Road, East Preston)

William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, one of the earliest states in the USA, took hundreds of West Sussex people with him to populate the New World. Martin Hayes, County Local Studies Librarian, will analyse Penn’s life and relate it to the historical context of West Sussex in the 17th century. He will also tell us about the many West Sussex places with links to Penn, some of which can be visited today. All welcome. Visitors £3 (pay at the door), EPKPS members free.

Come and join the Fun Dog Show, in aid of The Cinnamon Trust. The categories will be:

2. Prettiest Bitch
3. Best Condition (dog or bitch)
4. Best Veteran (7 years & over)
5. Best Rescue
6. Dog with the X Factor (cleverest trick)
7. Scruffiest Dog
8. Dog with the most appealing eyes
9. Dog with the waggiest tail
10. Desert Island Dog (dog the judge would most like to have on a desert island)
No puppies under 6 months of age are permitted to be shown.
